Fight, Flight, or the other F-word

Happy Thursday – I hope you are doing well. For this week’s video I want to talk about mindset in this market. It is a very tough market and I think there are 3 ways you can handle it. The first option is fight. You can work harder and have the ‘it takes what it takes’ attitude and know if you work hard now, it will pay off later. In my industry I see about 10% doing this. The second option is flight. You can decide you no longer like what you are doing and decide to make a change. We are seeing about 50% of the industry doing this. The 3rd option is….drum roll….FREEZE. This is when you don’t work harder and you don’t leave, you just freeze and don’t do anything. Unfortunately, I see 40% of my industry doing this and it is not good.

There are so many variables outside of our control and if we focus on those, it can seem like we are out of options. That is never the case. Tough markets are hard but if you go back to the basics of whatever you do and focus on the things you can control, you will come out of this on top. I have been professionally coached for 8 years and have been a professional coach for 4 years. If you have the right plan in place and execute it daily, you will win no matter what the market does.
